Michael (Mike) Grimes has been a Round Rock resident for 37 years and is a native Texan. He graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968
and then attended the University of Texas School of Law.
Mike graduated from law school, with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, and came to Round Rock as Round RockÕs
first City Attorney in 1971. He has maintained Law Offices in Williamson County since 1971 and at various times has represented the City of Round Rock, the City of
Cedar Park, the Round Rock Independent School District, and several other Central Texas School Districts. Mike is licensed to practice law in all Texas State Courts,
in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Texas, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been certified by the Texas Board of Legal
Specialization as having special competence in the field of Civil Trial Law since 1987 and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
Mike married Sharon Grimes in 1969, and they have three grown children, Brent, Scott, and Joshua. Sharon is a University of Texas graduate and was a speech pathologist in
the Round Rock Independent School District for many years. Both Sharon and Mike have been deeply involved with their children and their community.
Sharon served as President of the Voight Elementary School PTA, and Mike coached soccer, basketball, and baseball teams for each of his sons.
Mike served as an intelligence officer for the 181st Air Refueling Squadron of the Texas Air National Guard.
He is a Past President of the Round Rock Kiwanis Club, Past President of the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Williamson County Juvenile Board, Past President of the
Round Rock Soccer Association, and a Charter Member of the Morning Round Rock Sertoma Club and the Sam Bass Theatre Association.
